A devastating crash claimed the lives of two Scott City men on the morning of Saturday, April 12, 2025, in rural Scott County. Authorities say the accident occurred at approximately 9:53 a.m. near the intersection of Eagle Road and Road 160, just under a mile north of Highway K-96.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol’s official report, a 2006 Subaru Tribeca driven by 31-year-old Sye Micheal Voth was traveling south on Eagle Road. At the same time, a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by 39-year-old Kenneth Lloyd Lee Crow, was heading east on Road 160. The Subaru failed to yield the right of way, resulting in a violent collision that sent both vehicles into a nearby field south of Road 160.
Emergency responders from Scott County and the Kansas Highway Patrol arrived on the scene quickly. Tragically, both drivers sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither Voth nor Crow were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
This tragic incident underscores the importance of roadway awareness and the life-saving potential of proper seat belt use. The community of Scott City mourns the loss of two of its own in this sudden and heartbreaking accident.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash and urge all drivers to use caution at rural intersections and always wear seat belts.
