Citizens Health Receives $350,000 Grant from Dane G. Hansen Foundation for New OB

Colby, KS - 3/25/2025 - Citizens Health is pleased to announce the receipt of a generous grant totaling $350,000 from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation. This contribution will directly support the purchase of obstetrics (OB) equipment for the new hospital currently under construction.

"We are incredibly grateful to the Dane G. Hansen Foundation for their continued support and commitment to enhancing healthcare services in our region. In 2024, Citizens Health provided maternity care for hundreds of families, delivering over 200 babies." said David McCorkle, CEO of Citizens Health. "Their generosity will greatly improve our capacity to deliver safe, state-of-the-art maternity care."

Citizens Health operates the only OB facility located along the I-70 corridor between Colby, Kansas, and Denver, Colorado, effectively serving an OB desert region. Expecting mothers travel from all over western Kansas, eastern Colorado, and southwest Nebraska to receive care at Citizens Health.

The new OB equipment funded by this grant is designed to enhance patient care, comfort, and safety during childbirth. The hospital's maternity facilities will feature modern birthing suitesband an improved overall patient experience, aligning with Citizens Health’s commitment to providing exceptional, compassionate care close to home.
