Auditions announced for upcoming Summer Theater Festival
HOXIE, Kan. - The Main Street Arts Council (MSAC), Hoxie, is pleased to announce audition dates for its upcoming annual Main Street Summer Theater Festival held throughout the
northwest Kansas region.
The theater festival will feature youth performances in Atwood, Colby, Goodland, Hoxie, Oakley, and Quinter.
This summer, the theater festival will include the full-scale youth musical productions of a brand-new musical revue, Disney’s Dare to Dream JR.
About the Show
Disney’s Dare to Dream JR. is a dynamic musical revue that follows an enthusiastic group of trainees on their first day at a fictional Walt Disney Imagineering Studio. As they work together to uncover and pursue their dreams, they discover how the power of hope and collaboration can inspire and transform possibilities. Drawing from a century of beloved Disney films, this innovative revue features songs making their debut on a Disney stage, including fan favorites from The Princess and the Frog, Coco, Encanto, and Frozen II. With a thrilling mix of contemporary hits, timeless classics, and fresh medleys, Disney’s Dare to Dream JR. promises to captivate and delight audiences of all ages.
Productions of the revue are slated to be held on the following dates and locations (subject to
change):
June 20 at 7 p.m. (MT), June 21 at 3 p.m. (MT) - Goodland
July 11 at 7 p.m., July 13 at 3 p.m. - Hoxie
July 12 at 3 p.m., July 13 at 7 p.m. - Atwood
July 18 at 7 p.m., July 19 at 3 p.m. - Colby
July 25 at 7 p.m., July 26 at 3 p.m. - Quinter
August 8 at 7 p.m., August 9 at 3 p.m. - Oakley

Participation in the theater festival productions is free to all area youth ages 5 to 18 years andmade possible from the generosity of area grant funders, business and individual sponso rs, and fundraising efforts of the casts via the post-performance Bake Sales.

Performers interested in being considered for a named role must complete a full audition
consisting of singing a brief vocal solo of their choice a capella (unaccompanied) and reciting anmemorized monologue. A link to sample monologues can be found on the festival webpage.
Those interested in solely being an important member of the ensemble are only required to submit the Participant Registration Form; however, they may complete a full audition if desired.
