Jeanne Ann Cox, 63

Jeanne Cox, 63, of Colby, Kansas, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on March 3, 2025.


She was born in Goodland, KS in 1961 to Joseph and Beverly Moss and called Kansas home her entire life. Jeanne loved people, music, and art. She attended Wallace Elementary and Sharon Springs High School. She later graduated from Fort Hays State University with a degree in Fashion Marketing. Jeanne served her community through teaching art and ceramics for the Colby Public Schools, Colby Community College, and Heartland Christian School.


Jeanne loved Jesus and her life was one marked by sincere care and empathy for others. She wanted everyone she encountered to feel seen and supported and so many affirm her success in this.


Jeanne was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Moss, and sister, Cathy Siebert.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Kevin Cox, her mother, Beverly Moss, and her sister, Jody Pruden. She is also survived by her three children; Lauren, Leah, and Luke, and their spouses; Cuyler, Brian, and Savannah, and six grandchildren; Ellie, Judah, Ezzie, Nora, Ezekiel, and Jenna.


A Memorial Service will be held at Heartland Christian School, Colby, at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 14, 2025, with coffee and cookies to follow immediately after. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Heartland Christian School, 1995 W 4th St, Colby, KS 67701. For checks, write Jeanne’s name on the memo line.
