Construction planned on U.S. 83 in Logan, Thomas counties
The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin work on a resurfacing project on a portion of U.S. 83 in Logan and Thomas counties on March 31.
Project work will involve a mill and overlay on 11 miles of the roadway beginning at the west U.S. 40 junction in Oakley and ending approximately 8 miles south of the U.S. 24 junction in Thomas County.
Traffic through the areas where crews are actively working will be directed by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should anticipate possible delays of 15 minutes or less during daylight hours.
KDOT expects the project to be completed by the end of May, conditions permitting.
Bettis Asphalt & Construction Inc., of Topeka, is the primary contractor with a total contract cost of approximately $3 million. For more information, please contact KDOT Area Construction Manager Todd Anderson at 785-953-6011 or todd.anderson@ks.gov.
