HOLCOMB, KS -- The Goodland Cowboy football team dropped their district opener at Holcomb on Friday night, getting shut out by the Longhorns 25-0.

The Goodland offense just could not find the endzone as they were held to a season-low 144 total yards of offense and were held scoreless for the first time in 2022.

The Cowboy defense, which had been a real problem for GHS all season, had its best performance of the year holding the high-powered Holcomb offense to just 25 points which was a season-low for the Horns.

The loss extends the Cowboy's GWAC league losing streak to now 16 straight. Goodland has now lost 11 straight to Holcomb on the Gridiron and is 0-1 to begin district play.

Cowboys (0-4, 0-1) will return home to host the unbeaten Bluejays of Norton next Friday at Cowboy Stadium.
