Arvilla Louise Juenemann, 87 - Seldon, KS



Arvilla Louise Juenemann, 87, of Selden, Kansas, died on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Prairie Senior Living Complex in Colby, Kansas. She was born on July 30, 1937, in rural Sheridan County near Angelus to Alex and Theresa (Wessel) Schwarz. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy high school in Wichita, Kansas, and married Gerald Juenemann on June 6, 1956. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Selden.


Arvilla earned an Associate’s degree in Pastoral Administration. She was dedicated to her faith and the Catholic Church and served in many capacities throughout her life including as a Pastoral Administrator at parishes in Selden, Oberlin, Leoville, Hoxie, Hays, Plainville, and Stockton.


She was preceded in death by her husband in 2022, her parents, and siblings, Alex Schwarz, Jr., Mary Ann Juenemann, Herman Schwarz, Loretta Bollig, Irvin Schwarz, Janis Schieferecke, and Dorothy Sierra.


She is survived by her children, Rose Juenemann, Cathy (Joe) Broeckelman, Karen (Ron) Sippel, Judy (Steve) Rogers, Mary (Jeff Finley) Juenemann, Allen (Sundee) Juenemann, and Kevin (Donna) Juenemann and two sisters, Phyllis Jean Norton and Sr. Rita Schwarz.


Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm with a rosary and vigil service at 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Selden, with a Mass of Resurrection on Monday, April 28, at 10:00 am at the church with burial at the Selden Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Prairie Senior Living Complex in Colby or Sacred Heart Altar Society in Selden and can be sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
